I have read thru the links, and couldn't find the answer to this question:
Under the rear wheel wells, there is a latteral joint that bolts the chassis to the body - basically a U shaped bracket on the body which wraps around the chassis rail, and a bolt goes thru the pair.
I am guessing it is there to stop the body moving front/back under heavy acceleration (haha) or braking.
Whoever has done the bodylift probably hasn't had it engineered, and they have just left this bolt out - nothing in there. I am wondering if this is detrimental to the safety of the car ?
What do people doing mq/mk body lifts usually do/usually replace with this point, if they do it properly and get it engineered.
thanks

mq/mk body lift
It will not effect safety, I done mine in a shorty five years ago and its been to hellanback and its still all good, without this mod you are talking about but mine is not engineered, so I would say ring mannels or a local dealer who does body lifts and see what they say (to be engineered properly I would think you might have to modify the braket)

okay well i guess it's generally left off.
i will probably make something up just for safety reasons.
engineering is not really a problem, i'd rather not run into any problems because of it.
thanks guys for the replies
- if anyone has a picture of an engineered body lift on an mk or mq, could they possibly post pictures of this section? - much appreciated!
