Motson's TD42T stage 1 upgrade

Post by Grungle »

Anyone had the above done at Motson's (Fuel, aneroid, exhaust, dyno)?

In SE Qld, who would people recommend to do the tuning, fuel/boost on a TD42T?

Who has done this mod and are they happy or would do differently?

Would people recommend driving interstate to have it done by Berrima or Binskins etc instead?

hey

not sure how much moton's charge but here was what i got done on mine and very impressed i have 35 and standard gearing.

i just got some 4.6 ratios and hopefully if andrew from diesel tech wants to put in on the dyno again to see the results i'll let him.

either way the above link shows dyno as well

Hope this is of some help

cheers

Thats a great read. Should have mine adjusted with the 285's and 4.88's and see what figures I get then :D

I already have a gated boost control valve so I should just be paying for the tune and dyno. Got me beat why Motson's change the fuel aneroid if you got away with yours standard and still got +500Nm torque.

From the dyno you posted and percentage gain of new vs old, I calculate that your flywheel figures went (with 35's - would be more with standard):

114kw to 151kw - 32.43%
360Nm to 495Nm - 37.50%

Thats a great result. Definately have to get this done as soon as the 4.11's are fitted and intercooler is hooked up.

So i know there was mention of people potentially getting better economy.

Do anybody have any approx figures ?

eg 12.5l/100kms stop gears and 33" tyres, boost + exhaust.
