Hi all,
Ok, I am a bit confused. My roza (135k km's on clock so not much) is eating about 15 even 16 litres of fuel per 100 km's! Terrible! Ok...what i did:
- it's the engine taken from the applause, excellent condition.
- i replaced an o2 sensor (btw: General Motors o2 sensors fits to roza perfectly and i pay the equall of 23 USD for it:) It works - i checked by plugging in into ECU)
- air filter is also replaced (but still it's the standard one)
I have the LPG installed. As you may know, average consumption of LPG is up to 20% higher than fuel. Mine is now about 17l/100 LPG. Anyway, this month i am driving exclusively on BP fuel having about 15l/100 consumption:(((( Tried to investigate what can be the problem and here are the conclusions. Do they make sense:
- didn't replaced an fuel filter since i own my car (don't know its history but suppose it's not so dirty since i don't suffer from the power loss or sth)
- although tires seems to be economy-friendly (215/70) i recently discovered that my roza is significantly going right when i am releasing a steering wheel for a seconds. Can the wheel aligment also cause such extremaly high consumption?
- no error codes except of code 12 - EGR....it's still not cleaned.
- oil in the gearbox: mineral instead of synthetic thus hard shifting problems during the cold mornings (previous owner filled mineral oil - i noticed it not far ago and didnt changed so far)
- it's the winter now in Poland (so i am driving in average 0 - 10 Celsius degrees)
Can any of these potential problems significantly increase the fuel consumption. I have read your previous topics about fuel economy and it seems that you all get averagely 10-12l per 100km. But 15-16 is definetely too much i think! I am quite sure that i emptied my fuel tank since i almost dry it and then was able to fill about 55 litres. Now i have 230 km on the tripometer and looks that i left with about 100 more. 330..ehm...pretty shity:(
Heeeelp guys
Maybe this applause engine is causing the problems. I've heard that applause has a smaller ehmm...don't know the word...this wheel on it ( is it called fly-wheel? ). Can it cause the differences?
Any help would be appreciated. Cheers
Lukas

check your ignition timing as it could be set for LPG (more advanced)
this could cause some pinging and excessive fuel use. also have heard that applause have a different cam to a feroza and this could cause a prob but not 100% sure
