Anyone done a MK Patrol U-Bolt flip?
Anyone done a MK Patrol U-Bolt flip?
gday i have a 85 LWB SD33t MK Patrol with 2" body lift, 2" extended shackles, and a guard cut. I am interested in doing a U-Bolt flip and just wondering if anyone has had any experience with this or know of any company's with U-bolt flip kits because superior engineering only deal with toyota kits.
any advice gratefull.

Yea mine are flipped, except drivers side front, which has a skid plate made up, have a look at the pics on my site - if they are working.
Mainly its just a matter of getting different U bolts - square ones to go under springs, and welding some perches on to the to of the axle tubes which are parallel to the spring perches.

thats Patroler, but the pics dont work on your sight could you please email me some? Bmclaren4x4@hotmail.com and also where did u mount your shocker to once u did the U-Bolt flip ?
yea it purely gets the plates and u bolt nuts out of the way, just a bit of clearance, my shocks mount to a custom loop at the to and bolt to the original holes in the plates - which are now above the diffs.
I'll try and get some pictures E-mailed, no e-mail on my primary internet computer....

I used to loose U-bolts almost every trip because of the flex between the springs and diff, I think this is a good idea and well worth doing.
