lifting t/case
lifting t/case
what are the pro's and con's of lifting the t/case up to get it above the lowest part of the chasis rails to install a bash plate. Ive done a search but nothing i found said it was a good or bad idea.

I've been looking at this as well. You are limited by a few things from what i can see:
1. The front driveshaft flange hitting the crossmember
2. the jackshaft between the gearbox and transfer angle
3. front and rear driveshaft angle
In saying that there are many people who have lifted theirs 25-30mm without too many problems.
Well I'm guessing that they didn't think everyone would carry on like a big bunch of sooky girls over it like they have........
or you could build a skid plate that does not require lifting of the case

Depends on what angles your shafts are at already. If they are nearly maxed out then it would not be good!!!!!!
I have just been busy dude and was going to sell the zuk as I wasnt using it. I have since had some new found inspiration and have started cutting the zuk up and refining the suspension a little further. The zuk is going to be towed on an a frame so its no holds barred.

depends on wether 1.3 or 1.0.
theres less room in the 1.0 set up.
I lifted my t-case around 23mm, the max possible because the 1.0 cross member is above the drive shaft.
I just used sierra engine mounts as t-case mounts, this did the lift, and moved case back 8 or 10 mm, because of offset studs on the mounts, but this was better anyway, gave more space for the jackshaft.
because I'd already moved my front diff forward 22mm and now the case was back 10, I put a spacer in the front drive shaft just in case

sounds like a good thing to do . i'll be lifting it just enough to have a FLAT bashplate bolted to the chasis. how does having a centre handbrake effect it as ill be putting one on soon.
