Which grease for alternator bearings?

Post by elgordomuygrande »

I'm currently cleaning and rebuilding my alternator, have replaced the bearings, but I'm not sure what kind of grease I should use. Any ideas??

Cheers, Ron

If you have replaced the bearings with new sealed bearings then they will not need any grease. New brgs will mostly be pre greased.

Unfortunately it are open bearings which have to be greased an then closed with a little plate (old denso alt for 12r toyo engine). read about lithium grease but there seems to be a thousand different kinds of the stuff....

A high temp brg grease will do the trick.
