Sudden Rough Handling on GU

Post by phippsey »

My mate's GU wagon, stock as rock, suddenly handles shit on rough surfaces. I, of course, said shocks to which Nissan reckon the springs and shocks are fine.

I reckon that the Nissan dealer doesn't know his hand from his small old fella. :D

Still, I think he should go for a 2in lift and 33s as a start.

Which I ask;

What shocks & what springs? This does 90% on road, with one heavy trip per year (Alice, Birdsville, etc) fully loaded.

i think if hes done big trips like that previously, it may be his front panhard bushes or radius arm bushes, with both of these shot, he will have shocking handling,

also, what does the truck actually do?

Just mainly driving to work.

Basically, he needs some advise on what shocks and springs in 2in lift would work well in this setup.

Basically, you could call him an urban mum:D that takes the odd trip and a bit of light off road on the odd weekend

What series GU is it and how many k's on current suspension?
I have owned 3 GUs and have fitted OME suspensions with a 50mm lift. Works for me. Still able to obtain a blowie while driving off road.
