Your only options are Hilux's from 83 to 97, they are all solid axle except some SR 5's (from 93 on). The post 89 models have 2.8 diesel, 2.4 petrol.
The pick of the bunch is 89- 92 SR 5 2.8 diesel.
All other brands of dual cabs have IFS fronts.

Turbo's are an aftermarket thing on the 3L engined LN 106 hilux (89-96). I have a d/cab 96 with an aftermarket turbod 2.8 diesel, and have just removed the styleside in favour of a trayback. I think they might have been standard with the styleside but I'm not sure.

If your after a better engine than the 3L... get the 1KTZ from late model import surfs or the recent Prados.. it is a 3lt Direct \injection Turbo engine and is much better than an after market turbo'd 2.8.

The only engines they come with a re the 3L, 2.8lt NA Diesel or 22r 2.4lt Carby Petrol 4 banger.
Cheers,
Dan.

I have a 1990 solid front axle hilux with a 1KZ-TE motor The 3 Litre turbo diesel. I is a computer controled electronically injected motor with 85 Kilowats standard. The conversion is structurally straightforward but electrically difficult, but i still highly rate it. Dont get one out of a surf, if you can get one out of a late model lux, thats what i did and it simplifies things no end, i could explain why but it would take ages.

Hope this helps.
My mind is like a steel trap....quite dangerous because i forget where i left it.
