Has anyone had any experience with these hyclones [ they go in the air intake tube and create a better air fuel mix ] suppost to give better fuel economy and better performance ,yes i know its only a 3b in the truck but any little bit can help right ? other than a turbo of course ,there priced at $170 any other info would be good
I used to think that they might have done something - my dad tried one on his truck and he reckons economy went up slightly.
But after reading their website, it's just total BS.

Anyone with a high school level of chemistry knowledge should know that gases mix regardless of what they are. It's called diffusion:
At room temp, gases have a high level of entropy, in engine bay temps they'd be going nuts.
Obviously you can't write a whole product off on one thing they've said, but if you really wanted to you could pick the website to bits.

I actually removed my engine completely and just set up a massive hyclone in the engine bay. Works a treat for speeds up to 300kph, using the same principles as a turbine jet engine.
Problem is I have to always park it on a hill so I can roll start the thing to get it up to speed.

I drive a Mitsubishi Pajero NA 2.5 TD and I have got two hicolnes plus an ITG performance air filter. For me, it made a little bit of a difference, but barely noticeable. It is my understanding that they make a little bit of difference in the diesels, but not difference whatsoever in the petrols. For me, I cant prove it, but it probably made a barely noticeable difference to my car's fuel economy.

myth is already busted.
i've seen dyno reads of befor and after the fitment of a hyclon to a few cars
on a landcruiser with a 1HZ after the fitment power droped by 4HP and there for can not return better feul economy.
An AU falcon 6CYL after fitment there was no change in power and there for can not return beter feulk economy.
and petrol hilux again a drop in power was found.
to get an increase in economy you must have an increase in power with out adding more fuel and as shown by the dyno there was no power increase, and in 2 out of 3 there was a power drop so economy would be worse on those cars
