Matching rims to tyres

Post by Nev62 »

What is the narrowest tyre you would use on a 8" rim? Mine should be fine at 9 1/2" wide but is there a rule of thumb?

I go by manufacturer's recommended fitment. The tyres may work OK on something different, but I wouldn't want to give my insurance company too much to work with. ;)

Not all, but some 235's will go onto an 8" rim. It'd be a beauty for getting leaky and broken beads I would expect.
