do not forget the flex joint. My extractors on my 3B kept cracking near the block until I put a flex joint in.

Greetings,
Where are ya'll getting your 3B extractors from? No one here in North America seems to use them. Can you notice a power increse?

Cheers, Colby

Yeah stinger i forgot to mention the flex joint a dear little bugger too , just for that and a bit of exhaust that came out under my door and body clamps was $220 without the ex only thing that has handled the engine vibrations and no more cracks at the ex .Oh the arm off the steering box will ding the ex/extractor till it has enough room to swing ,on mine anyway

Thanks Tidy42, I've been looking for something to help out my 42 a little without the hassle of a turbo. There doesn't seem to be anybody on the web that sells an extractor for the 3B?

Gday Colby

Let's face it the 3b is no power plant  but putting extractors and larger exhaust on it defo helps. All the little "5-15%" increases here and there do add up. Reckon it feels better generally. I noticed mine breathes a lot better, less backpressure = better efficiency. Logic tells me when I increased my tyre size by 15% it help there too - having said that though it all comes down to little improvements like better air flow offsetting de-provements (lol) like the drag of bigger tyres.

At the minute I can think of 'Genie' , 'Motorvator' brands
Have you thought of measuring up the output manifold and making / getting some made? If there's enough diesels over there, might be a good idea for you and your buddies to get together and chip in for the R&D ;)

$0.02 if ya can't buy it make it

Thanks for the info Scotto.

I've thought about fabricating my own but never seem to have the time. I'll ask some of the other guys if they are interested in having some built, there's only about 30-40 diesel cruisers here in the US.

At least we won't have to deal with the stearing on the exhaust side! :D

not to sure if it will help, but i know of countless (ok a couple) of 2f's that do this, i think it's jsut down to bad design, i have heard doubling up the exaust gaskets helps.

If you want a set of extractors for your 3b PM me. I have a Lukey set here that had very little use before the turbo went on.

Had a decent note with a 2.5" exhaust, but i'd probably go a little smaller and use mandrel bends were i to do it again. Noticable increase in power and drivability.
