Dyno Tuning an NA 4D55

Post by Sammyboy »

Hello All,
I'll get straight to thew point! I drive an 83 SWB NA TD (with a brand new Turbo and turbo timer, plus many other new things). When my new Turbo was fitted I asked the guy who fitted it to dyon tune my car, with an emphasis on fuel economy, which he did. He set it up so I got the most of my top-end power and my fuel economy. Overall, it's pretty good. Cruising on the hwy is a breeze, and it tackles most hills with ease. What about the mid-range and low-range power I hear you ask? There is none! Previously I have my car dyno tuned about 6 months ago and this guy did a great job, focusing on the mid-range power and boosting the torque in all areas, but it seems that this most recent job has even dropped the torque in most areas. Is there anything that I can do without dyno-tuning my car again to boost the power in the low and mid ranges? Maybe a new exhaust (I currently have a 2 inch resignator system, which is pretty good). What do I do? Could somebody please help me with some advice?
Thanks,
Sam

p.s- I recently got a fuel reading of 8.7 L/100km, which is good. I would be happy with my fuel consumption somewhere in the 8's for country driving

Sorry Sammy I don't know the answer.
A big bore always helps a turbo and 2" isn't big,I would go 2.5",
however you have lost power through some tune adjustment so you don't compensate for that by changing something else, go back to the guy and tell him your problems ,see if he can make the adj required.
