tuff events,

couple of questions from a past spectator whos keen as mustard for this next TTC.

will there be better viewing areas for the events? in the past being 6 people deep was ordinary?
I noticed in the past people building little platforms to stand/sit on? any rules on this?
with the track profiles, i havent looked yet but can i mention as a suggestion you mark where the recovery crews will be. as some friends were set up really early on mini wiraba for 2nd TTC and just before event start the TLCC recovery team told them to pi$$ off.

and will you guys be sports and allow the best event up there to run again??? the "tug of war" with 4x4xs in the camping areas was the most hardcore event up there and had better spectator facilities despite the dust.

Dear Dirty Rock Star

Glad to hear you are keen to come to TTC on 15 April.

As the event director I have a few goals for this year’s tuff truck

For the competitors we will have an event that will challenge then in their driving and vehicle set up, whist not being impossible it will be difficult.

For the spectators we are improving the facilities to watch the competition, we have terraced the viewing areas so that you can see over the heads of the people in front. To reduce risk the only vehicles that move on the weekend will be those of the competitors. We will provide a bus service that will loop around the camping to competition areas as a service to our spectators. The areas that the recovery team need to occupy in order to do their job will be clearly identified before competition takes place.

Overall safety of all involved is my major concern. For this reason any person engaging in a tug of war with vehicles will be shown the door and be told not to come back. I notice you said this was ‘the best event’ last time but would you have felt the same if one of your mates (read wife and child if you have them) was stuck in the eye by a flying broken strap, shackle or stone and left blind.

I know this sounds like I am a party pooper but the responsibility for the safe conduct of the event is my responsibility.

Spectators come to see the cream of the registered trucks tackle some difficult tracks, relax, drink, and enjoy the experience. My aim is to ensure that all spectators can do so in a safe and harm free way. I can’t and won’t stop you from fire walking in the middle of the night but at least I can make sure that there is no broken glass in the ashes.

Tuff truck is a glass free event so bring as much booze as you like just bring it in cans, plastic, or casks.

Hope this answers your questions.
Cheers
Remeber this is for fun, so enjoy!

Majorheadache,

thanks for the speedy reply and cheers.

well i tell ya what im willing to trade off, the tug of war for the terraced areas.

do we read into the firewalking that campfires are sweet firebans permitting? or do we need to use a gas set up heeh.

I think its this type of attitude that gives us Four Wheelers the reputation of being Red Neck sexest pigs! The females body is a wonder of nature and should not be abused by thousands of drunken idiots yelling out offensive comments! :finger:

I for one think that they should not have a wet t-shirt comp at TTC.......

RUFF,

I heard a rumour that rangiechic is up for it??? isnt that right AnthonyP??
I think if she steps up there will be heaps of OL chicks up there!!!!

If the organisers want volunteers to help marshall such an event AnthonyP and i are both volunteering, and have the official permits required to undertake such a feat.

That looks to be exactly where we want to be in the running order.
Who knows where the votes will end up at the final tally though.
It's really guesswork, and I am just happy it looks like everyone that wants to have a go is going to get it.

Get it!!! :D

Yep he competed at Battle Of the Codes. The rig has potential and so does the driver but BOTC was there first outing and the set up wasnt sorted. He had never had it off road before this. It was Fresh from M&M.

So does this meen spectators will be able to watch the night stage this time?

Thanks for identifying this mistake. Our Clerk of Course (James Martin) and the Event Director (Ron Wilson) say otherwise. The statement has now been corrected on the web site to:
This will be a spectators' feast of 4wd action in the day and night stages. Except for the Mystery Night Stage, you will see every vehicle on every track. Most will not finish.

why are there no spectators for the night stage ???
