ok, so i searched and only found a little bit of info.
i'm swapping in another transfer case into my 87 model nt LWB sierra (no bodylift BTW) and i want to raise the transfer as much as possible. from what i read i think 1.5" should be good as you apparently get vibration issues at 2".
i know i could use engine mounts instead of the normal transfer case mounts and get it a little higher and it also would get moved back 10mm. but i'd rather try and get it a little higher than that. what i need to know is, what can i use for spacing between the mounts? could i use any other rubber mounts that are of a good height and longer bolts?
waht have others used who have raised thiers?

we have a shop down here called purple pig that sells rubber stuff, they have mounts of all shapes and sizes, perhaps you can try ya local rubber shop, or look thru the mounts on sale at an auto shop, or crawl round the wreckers. (on a 1.0litre like mine you are limited by the gbox cross member, so only a small lift is possible. But it still is a big help)
I've seen people use steel oblong section as a spacer, with the bottom hole enlarged so you can get a socket into the nut on a standard mount.

Is there enough room to lift it 1.5" without a body lift? Cool if there is, that will gain some handy clearance.
I think the best way to do this is to replace the mounts with long bolts & poly bushes. If you dont want to stack that many bushes then make up a spacer out of box steel. Tack weld a nut onto the top of the transfer case arms so you don't have to reach up there with a spanner and it would be easier to take in & out than with the stock mounts.
This seems so easy that I think I am going to have to do this to mine
I used some old shock eye bushes, the 1 piece rubber kind shaped like an hourglass, works well with a bolt through the middle.
Tip Use nylock nuts as I lost 2 regular ones (even with the gummy locktite) because I didnt want to tighten it up too much and end up with vibes transmitted through to the vechicle chasis/body

yeah it is elliot . i broke my front driveshaft the other week and it broke the front half of the transfercase off
this transfer case seems to be exactly the same as my transfercase ie. not 1 litre case as 1st thought though.... as long as it works ok it'll do for now
