i would say easiest way would be to build it urself, or ur local 4x4 store if they do custom work (i.e. extreme 4x4 at browns plains). as long as u no how to weld, building it urself would be the best option

If you prepared to have a go, do it yourself. I'm halfway through mine, sure there's a couple of things I'd like to do different but it's too late now. I don't mind mine not being perfect, but it's good to practice/learn to weld and do it yourself, plus it's a heap cheaper.

You could approach Buddy (bubs) and see if he is willing to do another one. He did a top job on mine and the price was right to. ;)

I don't trust myself!!!
What about On track 4wd at springwood has anyone had a tray made by them before? I'm after a tray similar to the red 78 series ARB southside ute if you have seen it.

2D Extreme Mods (Dale Kethers 0407 837 074)

I rang him and he said between 1 and 2k. depending on what you want. Apparently he has done some top jobs, try him if only for ideas!!

i have nil experience in welding but im gonna give it ago myself, materials (if you check my other thread) shouldnt cost much more than $300 - $350. so yea, ur obviosuly gonna be saving ALOT of money if you go DIY. i mean u obviosuly do some prac before yyou jump into making the tray, cant be too hard eh :)

Bubs
Have u seen the ARB southside red 78 series tray at all? I'm after something similar to that or one similar to Tony Ryans GQ extra cab, there is a pic of it under custom tube trays.

It's the white gq extra cab with a dark green roll bar, silver checker plate floor, mickey thompson tyre sunk into the floor of the tray and a ground anchor sticking out.

tray

Post by mudlux »

What sort of price would I be looking at bubs? also I need my arb bull bar and side steps lifted to suit 2 inch body lift can u do that? It's for a 75 series yota. I don't want the tyre sunk into the tray just a flat deck with drop down sides (removable)? colour coded blue bars with checker plate floor, if that makes sense?

You're going to have fun trying to build drop sides around curved tube side rails

If buddy cant help you out, we may be able to sort something out. Although we're very busy at the moment with 1 hilux exo, 2 suzuki exos with front and rear bars and sliders, another suzuki exo, sliders and rear bar, plus a hilux front bar. And unfortunately, mine comes first :D
