They actually don't look -THAT- bad if you put a light black tint over the top.

At least in some cars - for the lancers and whatever, they are RICE :)

I wonder is this fad was created by someone buying a faulty, unfinished set of light lenses from the factory? It was all just a big mistake when some ricer in a Civic backed his POS into a wall trying to "drift", 'cause his seat was so low he could'nt see past the shift light (on an auto)

I know you were only stirring :D I'm changing my lights anyway because I am getting rid of the bumper mounted set, when I get a new rear bar, so I figured I'd see if they were available. This is my tourer so wont be seeing any hard 4x4ing.

Should be able to get NEW aftermarket complete light assembly including globes from a wrecker for $85 each for three colour. 4wd Parts Australia up here in Brisbane sell them.

My bar mounted ones where stuffed and I was getting RWC. No way was I spending that kinda money for shity lights. I got the full combination ones for the quarters, ran the wires from the bar mounted ones up back into quarters and pluged into my new ones. Piece of piss. Filled in holes in rear bar with aluminium chequer plate. Lights were about $70ish each I think?

what are you trying to acheive? if you want to lose the bar mounted lights, put an orange globe where the reverse light is, and run a spotlight for your reverse. should be easy enough to wire up. I'm thinking of doing that, as my lights keep getting full of crap from getting dragged thru slops.

Yeah this is what I'm probably going to end up doing, was just curious about the clear ones.

It was a instant defect yrs ago if your light lenses had faded (EG the brake red had faded to clear and blinkers too)..

Even though theres 1000's of them around giving masssive performance gains with their performance lights, I wonder if anyone has thought of that still being the rules...

yes, but if they light up red and orange, they are legal. but if the red internal lens, or coloured globe fades, then it is illegal.

Because if they are the 3 globe type, there would be no mucking around with reverse lights. Was thinking of clear ones because I recon they would look cleaner than the the factory tri colour ones.
