Suspension Setup

Post by mrp69 »

Hi guys,

Anyone here running the OME 2" Lift with 31's or bigger just wanted to know your opinions on the setup. Tossing up wether to go that way or the 3.5" system with 33's both from suburban 4x4. If you guys had any pics on a 2"lift with 31's please flick em over. Also is it possible to run 32's on the 2" OME lift?

I used to own a TJ about 3 years ago.

I had 3 inch lift with 31's under it. Used OME Shocks and springs with a 1 inch spacer all round and poly airs in the rear. Fitted the poly air to carry 3 fuel cans on the customer rear bar for extended tours. I lowered the Transfer case for the lift and had 2 custom longer lower control arms made for the front. I also removed the Rear sway bar and had disconnects on the front.

About the only other thing to stop it scrubbing out was to add 2 washers to the Steering bump stop on both side. just saves the tires hitting on the lower control arms while in full lock.

It handled great.

The photo shows it down in the rear as I let the air out to climb out of the Creek up the cape and had 3 full Jerry can hangin off the rear. Pumped it up once again after climbing out.

Yep we made it out of Stainless pipe and bent and welded sections together. Attached it via Stainless brackets to the chassis.

Rear bar we made and sunk an axel stub into it for swing out 3 Jerry can holder.

Side bars stopped many a buggered flare from being replaced. :)
