Lokka Diff locks
Has anyone used them.
This maybe a Tonka but does anyone have any recent expirence with them?
Looking at the possibility of putting one in the front of my patrol diffed zook. (probably a better option than welding the centre)
The lokka is only just over 1/2 the price of an ARB air locker, does not leak, does not need solenoids etc.

search for it, there are heaos of threads. I even started a poll a while ago. Lockrights are good if you get them cheap. Air lockers are the best, you have the best of both worlds, you can turn have it if you want it and not if you don't.

I have a detroit autolocker in my GQ and i think it is the best driving aid i have bought to date. The thing with autolockers is you have to take the time to learn to drive with them as i'm sure most of the critics of these auto lockes don't. for dollar value they r an awesom addition to any truck and not prone to airleaks and problems with engaging / dissengaging like some airlockers do have.

Currently my detroit locker in my Daihatsu Rocky is a good 20 years.....
Well i guess the good thing about it is that unlike the airlocker they are maintenance free other than an oil change.
Btw since u guys brought it up have anyone managed to destroy a Detroit locker b4?
Coz i seem to find my locker these days have excess backlash and i have this problem when i take off from a stand still it takes off momentarily in 1wd b4 both locks up. And it seems that the left wheel moves b4 it completely locks.
Any one has any idea how to remedy this or just keep driving until the Detroit just dies?

have u ever taken it out to make sure all the bolts are tight

I am bias. But my opinion:
Similar unit but i have had the detroit EZ lockers in 2 zooks and have the full detroits in my current. Personally I think they are great value for money and work a treat if you arent constantly beating on them with oversized tyres. I have a full detroit for the family buss (GQ) and am planning on puting in a lockright in the front for our next holiday.

Had one in a Hilux and now my GQ.
Happy with the performance but I am gettting a load clicking sometimes when its working hard, I suspect the clearances were not done properly when it was fitted - make sure yours is done correctly...
Otherwise I am happy with them, makes it much safer going downhill on rocky terrain.

had a lokka from 4wd systems,
once i put 35's and a turbo on all went to the sh1t.
i mean had it for 2 years with 33's no worries, then after the larger tyres and turbo i broke the pins in the lokka 3 times till eventually the lokka itself broke. As well as I broke 3 cvs with it because you cant turn it off when reversing up hills.
just my experience. So in the end the lokka cost me more money and grief taking the front apart so much.

I used to have a Suzuki sierra with Lokka front and rear from 4wd systems in S.A.
Front was great (Part time) no trouble at all, steering became heavier (no p/steer) and 31's with offset rims, never broke anything!
Rear was a disaster, constantly having to take it out to re-shim the locker section in the diff, (if its not shimmed right it wont operate effectively) broke pins couple times, constant clanging/banging on road, automatically change lanes on the freeway when u hit the accelerator..
should have just spent the whole lot on one rear air locker.... i only bought them coz years ago there was a deal where u got the second one half price!
Offroad was another story, it was great having four wheel traction, most of the time i was in 2wd, even when u lift a wheel the car keeps going, makes things very easy to climb. only downfall is that u get stuck deeper in the mud when all fours are spinning like crazy...
anyway thats my 2 cents worth
