Bummer

Why didn't you just drop the rear tailshaft and drive home in front wheel drive............is there absolutely no movement in the rear diff ????

antt & 12uke, Here is my experience with lockrites:,
I had a lockrite in my vitara which "broke" and was replaced with a new one under warranty about 3 times before a solution was found.
This was a long time ago so i cant quite remember the part numbers, but there was 2 models that fitted the vitara: 1. basic difflock & 2. difflock & side gears replacement version.
The replacement side gears model was meant to be a lot quieter & smoother so i got that one but it had some design defect that would break after a couple of months.
The dealer tried to blame tyres, and everything else under the sun, but it was solved eventually but installing the basic version.
So my advice is to never but the replacement side gear version. (wish i could remember the LR.. number)

OK guys the lockrite is fine it did the crown wheel and pinion gears
all up it will be another diff with the lockrite installed and a r/h axle as this one is turning the splines and a new wheel bearing for that axle
