lame
They already do.

have you heard of "safe-T-cams"?
this monitors where you are at a given time, and if you get photographed by another cam and have not stopped for your legally required amount of time you and your company will get fined along with some inspections and questions..
What about log books. Every time you travel more than 99 kilometres from your home depot (say brisbane) you must fill out a log book, labelling how much driving was done in each 24 hour period. Total kilometres covered breaks had and so on and so forth..
Random on the spot drug test
Weighing loads
Brakes testing
Tyre and windscreen testing.
If you are a truck driver, expect to get pulled up once a month by qld tranport, anywhere in queensland. (the southern states can be even more strict)
Try this one:
A B-double is allowed to be a certain length in queensland, but the length is different in SA ans NSW, so if we tow into one of these states our combination has to change in lenght.... whats going on there??
trust me not all truckies are full of drugs for 42 hours, and they have heavy penalties and are specifically targeted on a regular basis.
On the other hand so are 4x4s
So are ricers
I reckon they dont target old sh!tter hippy cars enough!!
And they have too many speed cameras...
