Yea - its fairly easy. We are basically just bolting the drivetrail out of the lockless into the Defender ute. The change over will be really simple cause the lockless uses stock axle housings and the engine/auto/transfer will bolt straight in (getting rid of the stock defender manual gearbox)

About the only thing we will probably do is to relink the defenders rear suspension with longer links for more flex, exo cage and maybe some fox airs. This is all going to happen after WE Rock so we basically got 4 weeks to get it together for Tuff Truck.

Turning the lockless into a street driven rig is something Ive been wanting to do for a while and with a few spots open for tufftruck we just thought there is no time like the present to make it happen.

Nothing like a bit of controversy!!!!

And like everybody has said about the pre-scruteneering we are going to be doing here. We are basiclly just trying to make sure that there arnt going to be any surprises when we all turn up a tuff truck for the real thing.

yea! I like that concept... plug and play driveline!

Maybe it's time to build a buggy, and swap drivelines into whichever rig is required for the next event...

Had a chat to Det this morning just letting every one now that "Tuff Truck resirve the space for stickers ect, From the B piller forward"

That means you are not allowed your own stickers from the b piller forward including Windscreen, doors, bonnet, grauds, grill, roof every where.

Ok have fun :D

:bad-words:
I don't like that - it leaves bugger all space on a vehcile like the TJ.....and name another motorsport where the organisers can effictively sell advertising space on the competitors rigs.
Around the track go for it - but IMHO this is not encouraging sponsors of the vehicles
Anyhow just my 2cent's - I'll abide by whatever ruling - but don't mean I have to like it :finger:

I'm not thrilled about it either, let me tell ya... the sponsors that hep us get our rigs to the comps don't get the exposure they deserve.

But the feedback I got was that NO stickers from the B pillar forward except for event stickers... in previous years I think there were instances where they just got a huge sheet of white sticker and covered up the whole area, then put the event stickers over the top.

Even if one of your sponsors is also one of the event sponsors, you can't put their stickers on from the b pillar forward, as the relative sizes and numbers of the event stickers has to co-incide with the leval of sponsorship...

As Wooders has said, I'm following the rules but I don't agree with them.

Was the B pillar rule in the regs????

I'll have a look but if this is something that is being announced after entry/voting is closed then that is plain WRONG!!!

This rule was at the last TTC and it caused quite a stir we sponsored a truck and my own and they wanted us to removed my stickers off the vehicles as they were bothe utes we had our logo on the bottom of the front doors. Common sense prevailed and they fitted all there necesarry sticker on and left mine alone.

I can see the point of the organisers having to give there sponsors the correct coverage but what about the personal sponsors as without them a lot of the trucks wouldn be there.

Interesting that the CCDA rules which are specifically linked from the site mention :
50% of the bonnet + 150mm heigh for the full length of the leading edge & sides of the guards,
60x60cm on the doors (not sure mine are that deep :? )
150mm along the top of the windscreen or roof leading edge.

Then the final one which is really open to interpretation - additional event sponsorship decals typically small insize may be placed at ny suitable location on the body but shall be clearly visable......Hmmm expect paper mache fo sticker :?: ;)

Anyhow those rules state nothing of "BPillar" forward. Nor of pillars themselve nor the roof itself nor the sills, bumpers, grills, etc.....Anyhow this is pretty much what I've sent through as a question & I'll be interested to hear the answer :?

You want a pic of a dead stock Defender Ute or an Orange Tube buggy? Obviously the running gear is still in the Lockless so it can compete at Round one of We Rock. Prob wont have any pics available till close to TTC. But will start a thread in the members section as soon as we start building it. Will start as soon as We Rock is over.
