go to repco and do it yourself. costs about $80 for all filters and oils. takes about 1 hour. excellent learning experience. ;)

When I change the oil, I give the sleepers in the garden a good coat of the old sump oil. White ants hate it with a passion, helps preserve the timber, and makes them a kinda cool dark colour instead of treated pine green.

also gavin when you do your fuel fitler the 2.8 deisels are really hard to prime or pump new fuel through stick a air compresser hose in the petrol tank seal it then pump comes through so much easier.

when you do it just fill the fuel filter up with diesel before you put it on, and it wont take long at all to prime

Never had a problem with getting fuel threw again after changing filters and i never pre filled em or used the pump, just held the key on for about 10 secs and it would fire up again every time.

the compressed air trick is generally when your primer pump is shot

the hilux runs a rotary furl pump wich a pretty good at self bleeding when the filter is pretty full

A good system is oil EVERY 5000 in a diesel its a MUST if u want it to last oil filter and fuel every 10 000 ,air filter atleast a check every service as well as a grease n general check over too, brakes especially drum brakes after a mud run were they will trap the mud in and chew the brakes up just remove brake drum and a hose out should cover it .
Before hosing them pull the wheel cylinder boot open to make sure they are not leaking brake fluid.

Others will have other ideas on what i have mentioned all depends on how picky u want to be

And the power steering, battery electrolyte, coolant.

Just buy yourself a gregories or haynes. Nah, f*ck the haynes, get a gregories. Its got all the "how to" stuff about servicing. You cant fail, unless you try really hard.
