Post by EricB »

Hi

I have had the pertronix ignitor electronic ignition recomended to me.

Has anyone used this and what do they think.

This unit is all contained in the dizzy, no external box.

I have. Installed it as I hate points. I didn't do it for revability, just easy of starting and driving.

Had it installed by a dizzy place as the dizzy needs to be modified slightly to enable the device to fit over the shaft. Minor surgery. Once installed it is a set and forget with no gaps to worry about. Runs sweeter and gives a better spark. I am happy with mine.

There has been a few posts on this subject of late, some going for theis model others prefering the Pirhanna. Horses for courses.

It looks to be exactly the way my Feroza is set up from the factory- full electronic pick up inside the distributor, but it still relies on centrifical weights and vacuum advance to do the advance and retard....

Personally I reckon something like this would be better:

www.delta-digital.com.au

It also allows you to program the advance curves (two possible) in many increments. That's where you'll get the most power gains. ;)
