Wondering what the general rule is for driving in convoy and using main beam. Having not travelled at night in convoy and just fitted some spotties, I am keen to know the general rule for such a situation. I have seen pics of vehicles using main beam travelling behind others. Obviously not good on the road but if you are not on main beam in the bush, it's bloody hard to see anything.
Comments appreciated plus any other general rules of thumb for travelling in convoy or even travelling behind someone you don't know.
Aye

High Beam in convoy

I've found in convoy procedure in our club it depends on who is in front of you. most times it hasn't been a problem as it has made it a lot easier for everyone on windy dirt roads with the added light. Occassionally it has been a problem with some people. Best bet is to talk tothe others in the convoy and see what they are happy with

yeah i normally just talk to the car infront of me.
guite often ill turn my mirrors around so that they can use their high beams .
you dont use your mirrors in the bush much anyway so its no real loss , if im reversing qute often ill have the car behind me guiding me back anyway
