Gerni pressure cleaners?

Greetings,
I notice Autobarn have 2000psi Gerni pressure cleaners on special atm for $199. Are these any good? Are they strong enough to be used to 'degoop' the underside of a 4x4 after offroading, or am I better off just going to the Superwash and spending $6 every time I want to do it? Are they any good for generally washing the car? I see they've got a detergent injector of some description on them, but are they as good as a sponge and some elbow grease?

I have a small Karcher and I would not use it on the car - its so powerful it can blow water past the seals and knock all the grease off bits you want to be greasy....
Hell, the Massojet I use is almost too powerful!

yes these are good, but 6lpm will take a littl time to remove large mud buil up...much quicjer than hose though.......detergent thing is a small 500ml tank with a venturi nozzle on it, work ok but after you apply the detergent then you still need to scrub

I have a $79 dollar pressure cleaner from supercheap, and whilst it is nowhere near as powerful as a Gurni or Karcher (according to the label it is only 1250 PSI), it is pretty good, I have had it about 18 months and it still goes well. I figured that at the price, it is only 4 washes at a carwash, so if it lasted for 5 I would be in front.

Gurni is a good brand, for $200 you can't go wrong. If you are careful using it, you will find it is brilliant. But don't put the wand too close to the paintwork, you could peel paint off if you get too close.

I keep the wand back about 2-3 feet, and use it on a slight fan, and I have never peeled paint with it. And ct18 is the best carwash I have found, spray it on, leave it to dry, spray another fine layer, broom it up and spray it off. Easy!
