Is body lift needed for 35's

Post by kc_ksom »

Howdy

I have just brought a set of 35" Baja Claw (radial) and want to know if anybody has fitted a set of 35's without a body lift.
What im trying to achive is having the 35's under my car but still keep the same body hight as I dont realy want to lift it up higher, main reason is so it is not as noticable to the coppers????

I have the body lift blocks anyway (in case) Was hoping to get away with out it. The car has 2in sping lift only... It also has a fair bit of rust around the rear gaurds, so chopping that does not faize me..

Ideas anyone..

i run 35s with a 2in body only

clears fine in the front

scrubs at first in the rear on up travel, but doesnt take long to make their own room.

you should be fine with the 2in spring lift

u forgot to state what model you have..

If its a GU - it wont be any dramas as they have a larger wheel arch and plenty of clearance.. with a 3 inch lift you can fit 36's easy.

If its a GQ - 2 inch lift wont fit 35's as they'll chew into the guards pretty nasty... even with a 2 inch body lift.. you'll still have to cut the guards.
a 3/4 inch lift with a 2 inch body lift gives it moderate clearance - may still have to cut the guards..

My GQ had a 5 inch lift with 2 inch body lift and it cleared the 35's pretty well and 36's

MQs - no idea.. Im sure Screwy/V8Patrol will put in their side of the story...

Been asked heaps before, if you do a search it will come up.

Depending on how worn your suspension is, 33's will fit okay.

I have stock sagged suspension and 32's cleared fine, havn't tried 33's yet.

2" lift is enough to clear 33's

2" lift + 2" body lift is enough to clear 35's, but you might need to trim ever so slightly a bit of your guard.

Search for heathx4's members thread, it also has the info in it.

35's clear ok on an MQ/MK with 2in suspension and 2in body and you will have to at least cut out the indicator covers under the front guards and some of the front corner of the guard cause they will hit at full stuff.
