lexus v8 into a Dakar!!!
i have seen pic of a Dakar with a lexus quad cam V8 in it has anyone else fitted one of these engines in a Rangie?

Yes I did one for a client last year, straight forward fit except you have to modify the alternator braket slightly to swing the alt closer to the engine. I used the lexus transmission & mated it to the LT230. Goes quite well but unless you were going to run twin turbos or something extra you can drop in a slightly modified 4.6 and get the same kilowatts without having to engineer anything. Lexus V8 190kw approx. Rover 4.6 160kw ( easy to get extra 30kw). Two disadvantages of the lexus motor is cost of spare parts, ie : starter motor (probably cheaper to get another engine at $1000 a pop) & I wouldnt want to be doing a water pump in the middle of the simpson.

Did you make the toy auto to lt230 adaptor yourself? I'm trying to source something at the moment if you could help.
