Cheap Tire Fitting?
G'day everyone, i have a set of 2nd hand tires lying around that i need to get fitted asap to carry me over while i save for some newies. Dont really care about balancing or alignment, just need them fitted as cheaply as possable to my rims. Any suggestions?? have been Quoted $15 each.. looking for cheaper than this.

How do you afford fuel if you can't outlay $30 for a couple of tyres to be fitted and balanced???
Otherwise use some tyre levers and swear at them when your truck is bouncing down the freeway.
Downright dangerous bootyfab fitting tyres for road running if you ask me..

i normally just walk into any tyre place and normally a job like fitting 2 tyres to rims they will do for $10 if they even ask for money
(taking in a 6 pack generally will help gaurantee a free fitting)
as long as you dont go in when they are flat out and tell them that you want it done straight away
if i dropped 2 tyres off and they asked for that much id laugh and tell them to waste more time and take them back off cos im not paying that much!
that would cost $75 if you were to get a set of 5 done , what a rip off

Thanks to those who replyed, yes i am TIGHT im trying to pay myself through uni and i'll save money anywhere i can. Since they will only be on there for a month or so till i get some newies i dont see any sense in paying $75 when there's no need to

id much rather spend some money on beer than giving it to some clown just to fit some tyre's, theres tight ass and then theres the person who doesnt like to give away money, big difference
but yes 4wd's cost big $$$$$ to maintain
i did some calculations last year and worked out including everything that i spent on my car was over 60% of my yearly earnings
$$$$

Good to hear and I assume that includes balancing???, not that I would drive near you given a choice considering your lack of attention given to safety etc.
Atleast the $12 will be going to a good cause eh
BTW, what do you do at rego time??? Use your fingers to find a cheap printer who will mod your rego sticker?

and then you can fit yourself..........but i dont think Fourby's marooka sell this rubber so ill stick with 35's
For you Big Fella.... I'd order in specially!!!!
On the topic of fitting.... most places will charge a little extra for 4wd fitting as they take more weight (lead costs money) and can be a little more time consuming. If you go to the same place regularly, and they get to know you, invariably the cost of strip and fits will fall. If it's for your toys, and you are willing to leave it with them for a while, most places will do it real cheap for you. The more the tyre shop gets to know you, the better they will look after you.
Cheers,
Ryano
