you only need a shift light for engines with power, that tend to rev up quickly. you won't have that problem with a nissan.

I think a shift light is a great idea. When you are getting smashed all over the place and your navy is talking to you a shift light might be the only thing to tell you that you are over reving your engine for to long.

Well it certainly brings the bling factor to a TUFF truck.

I think if you want a tacho. Find out why the current one isnt working. It worked before cant be hard to make it work again. If still no good. How about just a 2.5" (or whatever the std size is) guage and mount it between the a pillar and the guage hood. Want look wanky either.

But if you are after serious bling was at Autobahn yesterday looking for stuff for a mates XR6T. And seen a monster tacho with shift light (think it might have been a multi-stage one to ie yellow when its getting close, red when its there and flashing red when it goes past the limit). It also had other guages mounted on the inside of it like water temp oil pressure and a couple of others.

A shift light would be handy when you are in low with rockhoppers, as it revs up pretty quick, even for a GQ  Plus it would be useful for me as I never look at the tacho while I'm revving the ring out of it, thats what the rev limiter is for

I have seen tachos fitted to the top right hand side of dash above the vents. They can be fitted there also even if the rollcage goes through behind them, but need to be the smaller type. Could you use a separate shift light tacho setup and mount the shift light on the left hand side of the main dash cluster?
