No seriously, you can never totally seal a petrol motor. WD40 is graet & if you have a petrol engine you shouldnt go anywhere without it. A mate of min with a rally car puts silastic on his dissy cap & plug leads but this is very messy. Works well though.

wd40 is CRAP
wd 40 is about the most useless spray ever invented...
it works for about, hmmm 1 hour
use INOX, and be enlightened to what is really a mosture repelant and lubricant, and a myraid of other things
and its food grade, non toxic!
also, the best thing for your dizzy is boat wheelbearing grease, just pack it on to the dizzy and cover everything, dont forget to pack grease where the cap meets the dizzy .......
wrap a rubber glove over the coil and lead, and seal it
better still put in in a sealed box or in the cab....
make sure your plug leads are the ones with the huge boots that go down nearly to the base of the plug

- make up a rubber seal for the dizzy if you dont already have one
- drill a breather into the dizzy and run a pipe up to your snorkel or somewhere higher then the dizzy - grease the rubber seal before sealing it up. the breather stops the dizzy from sucking water in when the temp changes.
- get those leads with caps that go over the whole plug and seal it
- spray everything with inox
you'll have very few water problems if you do the above.

i havent used it but have been told that camping stores sell cans of water sealant for tents and you can spray that all over the ends of your leads and dizzy and it lasts for about one day
also i have put a bash plate along the bottom of the engine bay and sealed up the guards with old tubes and have found this does an excellent job of keeping the water out

seems to work well
^^^^^ Make sure you only run about 3-4 psi into the dizzy , much more and you will blow it apart!
but it does work well for keeping the water out

Depending on what dizzy we are talking about here....you can silastic it all up and have two tubes connected to it, one from either side of the air filter...the restriction will cause flow of air, or an even nicer one is to run a pipe from the exhaust up to the dizzy and turn on the valve to let it flow into the dizzy...thats about 2-3psi and nice n warm.

Would one of those airbed pump do the job they are low pressure but high volume (also good foor cooling and pressurising a winch).
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY....

the exhaust one would be a bit dangerous wouldnt it , if a bit of unburnt fuel got through the whole thing could catch on fire!
