Finally Modded Defender Trailing arms
Hey Guys,
Sorry it took so long but had some minor production delays.
Basically if anyone knows the defender trailing arms they know they will bend on sight especially with difflocks and/or big tires. They are pretty puny when compared to say a patrol and as some of you have seen on slunnies 4wdlinks site I did an awsome job of "modifying" mine into a U.
Long story short I have had some custom ones made by fernando at 3rds Automotive and they look awesome. These are much bigger than standard and Big balls offroad has been selling the ones for the patrols and cruisers for a while and they have had great reports.
new before fitting
modded (in blue) versus std
As a result of me being a guineee pig anyone who wants some can get them through me for $350 or around $400 retail from Fernando.
fitted with std comparison
Photos are up on my 4wdlinks site
http://www.4wdlinks.com.au/gallery/album302
and if you are interested in the vidoe of breaking a land rover one have a look under
http://www.4wdlinks.com.au/gallery/album109
lake lyal )
The vid is called "bending landie on rock.
pm me for details.

there not that nice and the welds are very sh*t
there also not as strong as the 3rds units you have, but i beleive there strong enough.
I was trying to obtain sum standard rear links to sleeve in the exact same manner and sell to people for say $150 a pair (without bushes).
Just so that the less fortunate fellas running larger rubber that cant afford the big $$$ can have abit more strength.... but i have been struggling to find any standard rears for sale
dsds
mate std rear from lr are 145 plus bushes each. I know this as i turned mine into a u
so for 350 i was happy to pay for them
the scary thing is i had actually bent two. didn't realise that i'd bent my passenger one untill i took it off
