finally got the pile of crap back in action thanks to Mud4b with a 1.3 efi conversion
Downside is that now I found out how overgeared it is Its running 3.9 centers (wt diffs), S3 rockhoppers and "31" inch x terrains. I don't have a tacho but it's flat out like a biscuit at 100k's
The prob is worse because the xterrains measure 30" on a good day 29.5 on a bad one
Any ideas how to get it liveable I was thinking an upgrade to a genuine 31 along with a swap to 3.7 wt centers (already got a front). But how much difference do you reckon this'll make... like can I then do 110 @ around 4000? can't go bigger than a 31 around here either.... 31's get enough negative attention
incredibly selfless of me, but i am willing to give you a 1lt tfre case in return for your problematic s3 rockhoppers.

i run 32x10.5x15s on my daily driver and they are great
measure about 31.5 on 8" rim.
with 1.6 efi, s1 gears and 4.1 diffs impulling about 3600 at 110 in 5th

i wont be finnished my zook till near the end of the year and i have just sprayed a good thick coating of blackjack/sound deadner all over the floor in preparation for any unwanted noise (and just to be sure i'm going to give it another good thick coating when this one dries out more) but my zook will not be my daily driver thats what my hilux surf is for!

I could also go 16" inch rims giving me choices of taller and narrower tyres
eg I could easily get a 265/ 75 then which is a 31.9" tall 10.5 " wide tyre. That'd fix my gearing by itself Cheaper than buying a wt center too by the time I sell off my x terrains + sunraysias
I seached and found new 16" sunraysias would be the go there
I run Mongrels as a daily driver....handling in dry is great, and in the wet is much better than I expected. Being built on a radials they have many road holding advantages.
Can't comment on noise due to poor hearing, but I can feel a slight rumble when going slow, and at speed rest of zook rattles and makes more noise than tyres ever could
Time will tell how long they last, but so far so good. Have done most of summer, lots of trips to the hills on tarmac, and quite a few extreme 4wd trips..I'm happy, but would recommend new tyres if you can afford them.

There are some good choices for 16" rims I run 255/85 r16's on modified GV rims which are about 33.4x9.5" wide, you could try a 235/85 r16 its 32x9" wide, I have a friend running this in MTR's

235/85 sounds great stephen When you say modified gv rims is that just for offset or the center hole
I still reckon speedy wheels will be the go......... but you never know
