I think that is expensive for a 4AGE. It is a good conversion, but I think you'll have spent $4000+ by the end with just a 100kw engine. I'm sure you can find cheaper than that. But they are good engines.

A guy here in Mexico has done it...........4AGE with auto behind it !!!
Nick (ELMO) !!
Absolutely loves it ! but the Zook that it was in suffered from the terminal "Yellow Sticker on Windscreen" for the body.................so he's removed it, dumped the body and is about to transplant it into another SWB Hard top Zook !!

I put the 4AGE in the same basket as the GTi engine. They're great for the sand or street where you need horsepower, but suck if you want low down torque.
I've driven Corolla's with the stock 4AGE and there was absolutely nothing below 4000RPM. Sure it may have pulled through to 8000RPM but I wouldn't be looking for those characteristics for my 4wd engine.
Inevitably you will probably progress in tyre size and weight and it would be then that I think you would regret using the 4AGE. If you like the 4AGE package overall I would recommend finding a good 4AGZE instead. You could probably find one for nearly the same price but I think you'd be alot happier in the long run.
Regards,
Matt.

i was going to put a 88kw 4age motor in my zook, and my engineer told me to use an aussie spec motor, eg corolla ae82 88kw, or ae92 100kw corolla or even mr2. i had to find out all the emmision specs and other stuff to try and use an import motor, proved too hard, by the way, you want to get the sump modified, with the pick up at the back, so you have oil going up hills.

4AGE or 4AGZE will both require a custom bellhousing if you want to fit anything other than the G50 box. I went for the hilux box with bellhousing ($1000.00) from Dellow. Plus dual transfers.
You will also need custom extractors, best price I have had is $1100 for those. Then engineer, radiator, brackets etc. So this is definatly not a cheap conversion.
4AGZE is not a revy motor it's all low down torque. More torque at 1200 rpm than any vit 1600 at it's peak. Late model ZE's with map sensor put out 127kw and a Nevo pulley will add at least a dozen more.
4AGE is the rev monster.

It would have to be the best conversion you could do to a suzuki. I have had one in my car since Sept, 1992 (though only the 88kw motor). I originally had a single carby on my conversion, back in those days the cost of fuel injecting the motor was prohibitive because the motors rarely came with a computer. We used the car as an everyday family car, night run car, bush basher, class 8 off-roader & even did a few rallies with the Brisbane Sporting Car Club. She would pull from idle right thru the rev range, & believe me we had it right off the taco alot of times. She has been fuel-injected for the past couple of years using an after-market computer. She still pulls from anywhere in the rev range. Intake manifold airspeed is what determines low speed engine grunt. With the aftermarket computer we can change ratios in car on the go. the TVIS system on the motor can also control the low down torque.
Conversion Price
The best way to do a conversion on your suzuki is if you do 99% of it yourself. I've roughly worked out to do my conversion to a 4AGE approx $1600
I have done the 100kw 4A-GE engine conversion and am so happy with it i wouldnt put anything else under the bonnet. It easily kills a G13 both on and offroad with heaps more power and torque. I now have another sierra in my shed waiting for a 4A-GZE engine transplant.
