CAV filter into GU ZD30

Post by patrolmad »

I am looking to fit a second (CAV) fuel filter to my series III GU 3.0 but would like to retain the OE unit. Any suggestions as to where it could be fitted as there is no room in the engine bay. Has anyone done this????

Any suggestions appreciated.

Cheers Dunny. I did have a look it seems there should be enough room between the existing filter and the firewall. Is your fuel line running to the CAV or OE filter first.

No worries, i have the fuel line into the CAV first so i can see any dirt in fuel before main filter and they are cheaper to replace. i will take pic and send to your email adress if you like

Hi Dunny,

Sounds like a pretty good set up. Any chance of forwarding me a photo of your set up.........email address: rb332211@hotkey.net.au

Have to set this up in my 4.2.

Also where's the best place to buy the filter unit?

Thanks in advance.

That is legendary Dunny. You should go into full production. As you know there is a market for these.

Thanks for the kind words. I can make some up if you like in stainless and will drill holes and supply bolts and captive nuts. How much would be a fair price? let me know you thoughts.
