radius arm spacer kit question

thinking about fitting the the kit that big balls sell to push the front axle forward a bit, how far forward does it move the diff? and will i need a tail shaft spacer? the truck has a 3 inch suspension lift (GQ)

Moves it foward about 15mm . You wont need a tailshaft spacer.

how far forward does it move the diff?

people that bother with it, go for 10-15mm...

tyres im running measure 33.5 inch diameter, they are very close to the guard when the suspension is compressed, i had to remove the factory mud flaps as they were fouling on the tyres, might fit 35s in future. also thought it might improve approach angle slightly, and i believe the kit is only $50 so why not

put your factories back on and chain them back a bit out of the road ...... : it stops the sand flicking up and eating away ya window slides....then i would leave the spacer kit till ya get some 37's :armsup

fitted them to the mav, work well in keeping the tyres away a little more from the flaps.

You can reshape the flaps by using a small amount of heat, similar to an annealing process. I used a gas torch - very carefully - to anneal the flap, then reshape to keep the flap from fouling, and then cool with water to make them hold the new shape. Chains suck and look real ugly. if you get the flap caught on something, unless you put a fuse in the chain system, the chain will rip out of the flap or the mounting point = mess.

Im runnin 34in JT's and 33 MTR and have run 33 BFG MTs, they clear by miles with std mudflaps. Something maybe bent.

definately nothing bent underneath, heres a pic of it , as you can see its fairly close, it doesnt foul on anything now ive removed the factory mud flaps though

back to chains which if done properly can barely be seen and can allow forward and back movement no dramas......

i have pretty similar style sidesteps and a reanobly light chain froom the front of them to the flap 2 or so inches from the bottom and centred aswell. a u bolt with washers and nuts and a strong cable tie or tie wire to sidestep and if you can rip them off ill be impressed my 35 claws havent even looked like trouble....

no chains when reversing well by by mudflaps into the bottom of a mud pit...

and yes chains can look shite as some people think their harbouring the titanic...

I run them, my make ( no I don't sell them ). To do them properly you need a lathe. As stated washes are not all thats needed.

I have had no side affects with running these and allow room for bigger tyres or mud flaps etc.

Dont know what the go is with engineering etc.

If you want them, pay the $50 and get them off big balls - they are made correctly and it may save your front end from comming adrift one day.
