my mate's 'new' sierra

Post by SiKiD_01 »

yeah, 92 model, 1.3, WT, was a soft top, now a little ute.

a bit of a basher, but all mechanically good. (previous owner was a mechanic) also has a dual batt set up, nothing fancy.

dodgy drop shackles, wonders a lot on road.

apart from that, its all pretty much standard. has VL commo seats in it, a bit of a tight fit.

plans are for a SPOA conversion, and 31"s or 32"s. rancho shocks etc etc.

he wants his sierra to flex like my vitara. how funny is that. took it out a couple of times, didnt do too bad. also has 2" bodylift.

and its pretty slow, i have no idea why. its got extractors, and a 2" exhaust already, but still doesnt really move. we never use 5th gear around town, and top speed is about 90ish.

let us know what you guys think, and any advice on what to do. and as always, its a cheapo project/toy/week end basher. there are a hand full of sierra's running around up here with SPOA, and no one really cares about it.

cheers
Steve

and why cant i attach a pic?

EDIT! resized pics.

tyres are 30"x9.50"s

front are Mt/Rs, rear are BFGs. go figure. and whats more, rear rims are 15x8, and front are 15x7. (what a beater, hehehe)

well, it can go faster, but it just takes more road and longer.

Yeah, sounds about right. Mine tops out at about 90-100 (according to the speedo, which is wrong) and is on 30 x 9.5s

mine on 31's can do 110 fairly easily on the flat, doesn't take tooooo long to wind up to it, and will hold it comfortably. 110 is 92 on the speedo in mine....

that's an 88 1.3 with only 2" mandral exhaust mod
