GQ PETROL MODEL Dual Battery Tray Question

Post by lif73d »

Hey, does someone have a dual battery setup in a petrol model GQ patrol that could give me the tray dimensions (battery length mainly).

This is the smaller size tray that mounts against passenger firewall - I need to know what the biggest size battery is I can fit. Piranha say a 8" is all thats gonna fit their tray, I've tried sitting a 10" long battery in the spot where the trays gonna go and their seems to be enough room ??

nah it s a 3litre petrol model and the P/S res. is mounted up near the overflow bottle cos on the 3litre the dizzy wont allow room for it to fit on the pump itself.

I think blkmav has the right idea in moving it, but I wanted to avoid moving/modifying mounts, extending lines, etc.

I've convinced myself im ok with the size of the petrol model tray - so if anyones got one, some battery dimension measurments would be great!

thanks guys

Ive got the arb tray on mine that mounts to the passenger fire wall. Its a 93 gq petrol efi , so theres the air box and gas shit taking up half the engine bay. Im running an excide orbital marine battery which is red and black in color and from memory , without going outside to check it has about 670 cca. And then in the standard tray Ive got an excide extreme with 600 cca. Hope this helps and the orbital battery fits perfect in the tray .. shane....
