I've not had much to do with Rover engines when it comes to rebuilding them, which leads to this question:

Is there any fix for slipped liners, or is the block stuffed?

They can be fixed but it will be cheaper and easier to get another block.
Saddle up tonto, its the not so loanrangie! . 98 TDI DISCO lightly modded with more to come.

I heard it costs about $400 per pot to resleeve the things. Some engine places can "pin" the sleeves to stop them moving again once you have it right.

I have a 4.3 stroker that slipped one far enough to catch the top ring and pull the top out of the piston :cry: :cry: (see photos)

i just had a 202 bore sleeved for $80.00 not sure if alloy blocks would be more $$$ but doubt it.

Ouch!

The high performance builder over here often use 'top hat' liners to stop this happening on the big capacity/high output conversions.
