Gu snorkel on a GQ

once saw a Gq in a mag with a factory Gu snorkel on it, has anyone here done this, the factory GU snorkels look better and are cheaper than others available, i was just wondering how hard it is to modify it to suit

I have heard of it being done.

I think they use a heat gun a little to make it fit better.

not sure why you would want to, the factory GU snorkels leak some are porous and almost all leak past the nissan badge

yea theres a story on that in Yota Mthly, and a few threads on EO on it too. and even a few here.

so what is the end result? does it fit ok? is the pipe bigger diameter? what about the 4.8 petrol, is it bigger diameter??

i can get the GU3 from nissam for less than $300.

Ptrool endedup with a 4inch stainless pipe one, looked ok, but could have been better. but it worked. if your after a bigger diameter, that would be your best bet.
