Hi All,
Does anyone know who supplies the rear light that mounts on the spare tyre carrier? It is a work/reverse light.

make your own.. buy a cheap spotty mount it on a pole
get 2 pieces of pipe (then you can turn it any direction u like.), one slides inside other.
Outerpole
Drill hole in one side, and weld a nut on to it, use this to pinch the inner pole. You can then have it any height or direction you want.
Weld washer on bottom to stop inner pole sliding out.
weld 2 tabs on the pole to mount to wheel carrier.
The mounting is done for that pipe.
Inner Pole.
Weld nut on top of pipe to mount spotlight too. I use a Hella 181.
Run wire down the center of the pole.
I got one done like this shit loads cheaper than Kaymar etc.

I made one out of a Big-W small extendable tend pole. Works good. Already galvanised and all you have to do is tack on some tabs to bolt through onto the wheel carrier on your back door.
The pole cost like $4 or something.

I also made one like this with box section mild steel, one inside the other, adjustable height, just put to supercheap rectangle spotties on there, lights up very well when reversing Also wired into a 3 way switch so i can have it off alltogether, on all the time, or only on when i shift into reverse.

Nam, JB weld sucks big time. You know me I just gotta TIG weld it and make it out of stainless steel at the same time.
I spaced the wheel carrier out to allow the square tube to get down the door further. The short tube to the left is to run one of those coil type leads down so as to allow full extension.
All I've got to do to finish it off is get it wired one day, but as an auto elec there's one word I just don't understand and that's electrickery. I haven't got a clue when it comes to wiring things in

We are Tig welders, gravity doesn't worry us.

I am going to make the same sort of thing but I want mine to retract below the spare, to give max rear visibility.
I think the ultimate would be to have a worklight that could also be removed for use under the car, or to light the engine bay - keep an extension lead handy to plug in when needed with another power outlet for it in the engine bay. Also include some sort of stand for it for the ground. Uhmm, got me thinkin' on the fly now...
All this and I havent had the morning coffee yet!

For the coil type lead, just wrap the wire really tightly around a screw driver shaft.
That's how I did it.
As long as you don't ever extend it then you will have no worries about it re-coiling.
