converting bundy to power steering.

Post by big bundy »

just thinking about converting my non-power steering bundy to power steering, from what i can tell i just need a new powersteering box and a pump/resivour and some high pressure lines? is that right

apart from that is it just a simple bolt in job or is there more to it that what could be expected?

Ive just done mine! I did the v6 conversion and had the pump so I thought I may as well use it. Got the box off dumbdunce ages ago.

Just unbolted old steering box, bolted p/s one up and then a mobile guy came and did the lines for me.

Havent driven with it yet but will let you know in a fortnight I hope :?

ah sounds good mate with the lines....isn't it just a return line and a feed line? does it need to be done professionally or ya just getting lazy? :P

Probably not, but he has all the tools for the job, does it there and then, no chasing fittings and sh!t. The commodore pump runs different fitting sizes to the toyota box, plus he did all new a/c lines and taps at the same time!

60 series box is right, but beware, the 7x series box is WRONG - it turns the other way. the boxes are externally near identical so be careful!
