80 rear LSD in front

Post by Jeff80 »

Just wondering if anyone has put an 80 rear LSD in the front diff ? Can it be done? I tried searching but came up with nothing. Any help would be great as I have a spare rear LSD laying around... :)

Pretty sure it wont fit.. front diff is a lot smaller than the rear.. only 8" i think and the rear is something like a 9"

it wont fit, centers are differant sizes, you could put a lsd out of a hilux in the front of a 80 but it would be a waste of time and money.

If you own a older cruiser, the 80 series lsd will fit either diffs.

as has been suggested a hilux or bundera rear LSD will fit the front of an 80, but don't do it - it messes up your steering (especially if you have a full time 4WD!) and the offroad traction benefit is almost non existent for the time and effort you have to put in to get the thing in there.
