when building a buggy do you really NEED shocks as its not going at great speeds or are shocks only needed on a road going vehicle?

I own a leaf sprung vechile and on the road, shocks dont make alot of differnce

however off road, going up hills is ok, not great but gravity works for you

going down hills is a different story, if you are desending slowly most of the breaking force is relient on the front, if you go over somthing it starts to bounce as it bounces you lose front traction and go faster, as you go faster you bounce more and pick up more speed, and so on.

At this stage you better hope you the grounds starts to flaten, because as teh bounces get worse you also lose stearing

recently i ran the second day of a navrun with no front shocks, and it was teriffing going down hills, would not recomend it
