Interesting turbo setup on ebay

Post by chimpboy »

Just saw this on ebay, it's on a GQ that's for sale:

"The Item you are looking at is a Used Nissan patrol which has been fitted with an after market turbo system. This system consists of a modified diesel manafold a high flow turbo from a series four mazda RX7 and a 48MM external waste gate also a front mounted intercooler with cast alloy tanks. The car is still running the factory computer and air mass meter but with the addition of an after market computer would develop much more power(standard approx 105HP at the wheels as is now 185HP running 6psi boost)"

Just thought this might be of interest to someone.
This is not legal advice.

Nissan are funny like that.

They made an "LD30" which uses the exact same head as on the L28, the crank's are actually interchangable between the engines.

The LD30 is a 3.0L diesel, the L28 is a petrol (for those who didn't know).

If you run like 40 thou over pistons and the diesel crank, it puts the L28 out to about 3.15L - yeah I know why would you bother, this is coming from a zed performance website, the crazy japanese are always out to get the absolute most from their engine.

They actually get the L28 up around 500hp (from about 160hp for the factory zed motor).

I read it as "since it's an interesting setup that it's a petrol engine using a diesel manifold among other shit".

I was referring to Nissan's uncanny ability to use the same bolt patterns and parts on a lot of their cars/engines.

Ie: I read it wrong :D
