highmount mounting?

Post by Arron nz »

I have got an 8274 and I am going to mount it on my tray (single cab lux). question is, does any one know if you can mount them face down. (ie where the fairlead would be is facing down to the ground instead of foward). Im not sure if the winch would lube its self enough or if it might leak oil. The reason for wanting to do this then it eliminates the need for a roller. I would have the rope pull straight off the bottom of the winch, around a roller at gearbox cross member height, and then out to the front. Any help much appreciated.
Cheers.
