cheap good auto electrican required - sydney leichhardt area

Post by senergy »

im after a good auto electrican who can replace and fit the alternator on my feroza. im in leichhardt sydney area but am willing to travel a small distance if required.
how much should i expect to pay for:
1. recon alternator where i install it,
2. recon alternator where they install it.

also is it possible to replace with a higher amperage model then the stock unit.

thanks

p.s. cross posted in the dihatsu forum as well.

You only need fairly basic mechanical skills to swap an alternator. They are usually held in by only 3 or 4 bolts (often with other crap in the way of course.)

These guys list only one replacement for a feroza:

It's a 50A unit which is pretty average. Usually you can swap something else in though, just need the pulley from the original.

But what's wrong with yours? Sometimes just the brushes wear down and can be replaced, it's about $20.

I've sent those guys a email asking for prices.
My alternator needs new bearings at least, its got a nice rattle.
I know its not "that" hard to replace but i'm feeling really lazy after spending days installing alarm/stereo into my fez.
