Folks,
Does anyone have a good photo of the engine bay of an F85 Rocky (Australian) with a 3Y motor?
I am trying to trace a few vacuum hoses.
Thanks

Have you downloaded the Rocky manual? Link is in the FAQ.

If the 3Y motor is a standard motor in a Rocky then I would guess that the Rocky Workshop Manual would cover it, yes? Have a look, what have you got to loose!

It covers them all AFAIK. Download it- it will help you out in the future anyway.

Thanks but I can only get the Spanish language site (the other link is dead). I am not sure that a foreign model will give me the info I need.
I was really hoping someone had a pic of their engine bay.
Cheers

I was going to post the relevant section on the web for you- but it's only got the DL-42 and DL-52 diesel engines in it.
There are a couple of Rocky owners on here- they are just a bit shy?!

Did you also post in the Yota section? Hiluxes (and Hi-aces) had the same engine somewhere in the eighties, 3y (later 4y)

BTW the manual on that Spanish site looks like it's been scanned in by some people from Melbourne if you read the blurb below the Rocky pic. Perhaps try downloading the "General" section and see if that helps?

The files are huge!
I think this if the F7* series from the file I did manage to download.
Folks are probably shy because they have disconnected all the pollution gear and blanked off all the vac lines.
Thanks again

Shy - hey some of us gotta work for a living you know.
I can give you all the info on the diesel but nothing on the petrol motor.
Just get rid of the petrol motor and shove a diesel motor in there.
So to answer your question - I wouldn't have a clue.

Hi Stu! Good to see you're around.
I think most of the Rocky owners on here would have diesels?
Do Gregory's have any manuals for whatever model Toyota that engine came out in?

Dunno if it's the same but from memory I think Haynes Manuals have a workshop manual covering the 3y equipped Hilux.

Thanks folks,
I have tried the hilux and tarago SP manuals and while they have schematics, there is no really good photo. Anyway, a Rocky one would be the best bet.
I'll find one at the shops one day and pop their bonnet cable.

I have a f80 petrol 3y and a factory manual , it lists four different variations of vacume hose connection for different countries ( saudi arabia, europe.australia and general) the diagram inthe manual is not pictorial but drawn like a schematic and requires some interpration. i dont have access to a digital camera to send photos but could photo copy pages from the manual and mail to you.
regards wide boy
