moving vitara rear shock mount

i want to fit some longer shocks in the back of my vitara. i doubt i can fit anything longer than something about 650mm ext in the factory mounts.

so.... if i take the principle of inboarding the top mounts of the rear sierra shocks, and apply to the vit, will it work? ONLY, the top mounts are not going inwards, but back wards on the chassis.

the bottom shock mount, on the diff, is behind and under the axle tube, so if i fit a long shock, at full droop, the shock will touch the axle tube. so by moving the top mount back, it may leave enough room for the shock to fully extend with out contact.

this is similar to a rear hilux set up, but instead of having one shock forward, and one shock rear wards, both will be rear wards.

how will this affect ride? will the shock still shock absorb? or will it be half its capability. also, the movement of the diff (up down) will be more than what the shock will travel now right? i think it you inboard a shock at 45*, it looses its ability to dampen, and the travel of the shock is halved. right?

and at the moment, the top mount of the rear shock is a pin type, will it be better to go for an eye type on top and bottom?
