OK Glen - I'd be really interested to know just what is different about the Aussie designed shockies & the US designed shockie......I'm not calling BS, but just seems like a LOT of times people say specially designed for Aust when it's just the same product....So I'd like to know specifically what's different.....
The reason I ask is EVERY experience I've had with ProComp is they make good tyres and good coils - but their shockies suck.....So I'd like to know how these ones are different and iff that might adress the problems I've seen/read/experienced.....

My understanding is that they have been custom ordered. The obvious custom bit is the lengths and the mounts on each end. The not so obvious is the custom valving for the specific vehicle application.
To me the ES9000 (the ones that i have seen anyway - the 14in travel and 15in travel) looks the exact same as a monroe series 60 shocks (which is what I use on my mog rover. They are a bigger diameter than the normal 4wd monroe shocks)
The MX6 are an awesome shock. They are a monotube shock and they are adjustable which is very similar in build to a bilstien (sp) shock. They also suffer the same length probs as the bilstein shocks as you get a bit less travel for a given compressed length of shock. And the adjuster which is at the bottom of the shock looks like it could be riped off easily.

Sam,
Reports I've read and people I've spoken to suggest the MX6 IS a MUCH better shockie - mostly because of the adjustability. And my observations would be consistent with yours.
Regarding the ES9000 again my impressions are similar to yours, but generally the non adjustable ProComps have been critasised for being far too stiff (although fairly tough).
It's the "custom ordered" that I'm interested in..... Does this mean that the order was "special" because it was direct to the manufacturer?
Or are the lengths specifically made for only the Australian market?
Are the mounts/eyes different/stronger/whatever?
Is the Valving actually different? Is the variance just for specific vechiles or all Aussie vehicles?
Specifcally on the last point, obviously there are a range of Procomp shockies for Jeeps in the US, will these actually be different to the units supplied to Aussie Jeepers?? For example....Anyhows I just wanted to get some specifics because lately I've seen too many claims relating to Aussie designed or built stuff when infact it's NOT....

they a first for australia as these lengths have not been made before. apart from toyota fittment, the es9000 has never been made to suit rover and nissan, previouly the shocks for these vehicles have been retro fitted from the toyota range. does that answer your question
