I was going through the same problems last week and was about to order some 35 inch BFG Muddies for my 80 and I rang a mate who distributes tyres and he told me you have owned MTR's for the last 3 years why by a tyre that has too many sidewall problems ie; BFG, you have owned the best why go back, so I ordered some MTR's again.
Im here for the sausage!

I have not had any problems with the MTRs in mud, lets keep it real price wise, of course Pedes or Claws will outclass a tyre half the price, but bang for buck the MTRs are my choice any day
If the above post did not offend you in any way please PM me so I can try harder!!

i don't know how much a 33 x12.5 mtr is, i don't think there was much more than 20 buck a tire in it though. not knockin the mtr's or anything.

There's not much in them at all really. Unless he was referring to the price of Bias Ply Claws? Which are close to double...

MTRs for me. Speak to the guys who spend their weekends in the Vic High Country, where mud means a long claggy hill climb, not just a bog hole, and they'll soon tell you what BFGs are like in the mud - most say they're great on all surfaces except mud, where most other muddies will out perform them. When mud is about the only advantage of the BFGs over the MTRs I don't see the point in getting 'slightly better but still not real good'.

Also note that the 4WD Monthly comparison used only bog holes for their 'mud test', not true mud.

I haven't had BFG muddies before, but have absolutely no complaints about my MTRs.
